What payment methods do the car parks accept?
You can pay using coins, credit / debit cards or RingGo an online and app payment solution.
What information is required when paying to park?
You will need to provide your vehicle registration number and confirm the amount of time you intend to park for.
Can I extend my parking time?
Yes – if you have paid via RingGo you can extend your parking expiry time remotely via RingGo online or using the RingGo app.
You can also purchase a new ticket at the pay and display machines which would need to be displayed within your vehicle.

Do you offer parking permits?
We are currently offering longer term parking permits at Duke Street Car Park. These offer a discount on the standard day rate to park. If you would like to learn more about these please contact email@example.com.
Can I leave my car overnight in one of the car parks?
Each car park has different opening hours. Details of these can be found on the Our Car Parks page of this website.
Can I pay for parking in advance?
Yes. Parking can be paid for in advance through RingGo however the parking will start from the date and time you have made your purchase. You can purchase up to 20 days of paid for parking in one transaction.
Can I get a refund for parking I have paid for in advance but not used?
No we do not provide a refund for parking that is paid for in advance that is not used.
How do I use RingGo?
You will need to register either on the internet at www.MyRingGo.co.uk, on a smartphone or during your first RingGo phone call. During the registration process you will need to confirm your vehicle registration number, make and colour of your vehicle, the location where you are parked (this is a five digit code shown on the signs), how long you would like to park for and your credit or debit card details. The next time you need to park RingGo will remember these details. For more information on RingGo, please go to www.MyRingGo.co.uk.
Is there a charge for using RingGo?
Yes. To use RingGo there is a £0.20 transaction charge. You can purchase up to 20 consecutive days parking for one transaction charge. In addition to the transaction charge there are two optional charges. These are for receiving a text to confirm your parking and receiving a text when your parking is due to expire. These additional services cost £0.10 each. You can opt out of the optional charges in your settings within your RingGo account.

Do I need a University of Suffolk Car Park permit to park at University Car Park, The Wharf or to receive a discounted parking rate at Athena Hall?
Yes. Only vehicles that are registered for a University of Suffolk Car Park Permit are able to park at the University Car Park or The Wharf Car Park or to receive the discounted day rate at Athena Hall Car Park.

I have a new vehicle - do I need to advise anyone of my new car details?
Yes. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to amend your vehicle details.
I am using a different vehicle on a temporary basis - do I need to advise anyone of the temporary car details?
Yes – please contact email@example.com to advise them that you are using a temporary vehicle. Please provide the car registration number, make, model and colour and confirm the vehicle that this is replacing and the start and end date for using this vehicle. Please note that if the end date changes you will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org to provide an update of the new end date.
Do I need to pay to park at the weekend?
No. Vehicles that have an active University of Suffolk car park permit can park at both the University and Wharf car park at no cost at the weekend.
Do I need to pay to park out of term time?
No. Vehicles that have an active University of Suffolk car park permit can park at both the University and Wharf car park at no cost out of term time.

How many days parking can I purchase in advance?
You can purchase up to 20 working days of parking in advance using RingGo.
If I purchase a ticket using a RingGo location code can I park in any of the University car parks (University Car Park, The Wharf, Athena Hall)?
Yes. You can park in any of the University car parks for the day that the parking is purchased for.
Can I move between the University car parks (University Car Park, The Wharf, Athena Hall) on the same day with one ticket / RingGo purchase?
Yes. You can pay to park at one of the University car parks and move your car to a different car park on the same day without needing to purchase a further ticket.
I need to drop off library books / course work at the University Car Park. Do I need to pay to park?
There are drop off bays on the University Car Park which are free of charge for 30 minutes parking. These are located on Long Street and by the library.
I am visiting the University. Can I park on the University Car Park or The Wharf?
No. These car parks are for University of Suffolk car park permit holders only. Your nearest car parks are Duke Street or Athena Hall car parks. Further details of these car parks can be found on the Our Car Parks page.

Please report any faults to us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01473 432 222. You must ensure you still purchase a ticket, either using one of the other working machines, or via the RingGo app or RingGo phone number.
