Job title: Assistant Accountant | Ipswich | Full time

Salary: £28,256 – £30,825

Main Purpose of Job

To provide support to the Group Financial Controller, as part of the finance team for the companies owned by Ipswich Borough Council and their subsidiaries, including:

  • Ipswich Buses Limited

  • Handford Homes Limited
  • Ipserv Direct Limited
  • Handford Lettings Limited
  • Ipswich Borough Assets Developments Limited

Main Duties

1. Provision of a full accounting and financial consultancy service to Group companies to enable the companies’ obligations and objectives to be achieved within financial constraints.

This will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cashflow forecasting.
  • Liaise with budget holders to exercise budgetary and financial control
  • Work with the Controller, Finance Director and Senior Management Team to provide Executive Reports
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for the trading companies as well as assisting the Trainee Accountant with any transactional duties.
  • Attend monthly management account meetings with budget holders and controller answering any questions they have.
  • Liaise with external auditors before, during and after the audit, providing required schedules, reconciliation reports and any other required documents.
  • Day to day treasury management.
  • Deputise for the Group Financial Controller during absences

3. Responsible for delivering to the controller the monthly management accounts for the trading companies in accordance with period end timetables, including account reconciliations/schedules and variance analysis.

4. Ensure that budgetary control is exercised over arms-length companies in a consistent manner. This involves a regular supply of information to Company Directors and managers, monitoring performance, advising on best practice, supporting preparation and evaluation of business cases and providing advice on the most cost-effective approaches available.

5. Ensure that statutory returns are completed and submitted in full and on time as required.

6. Providing a Business Partnering service by proactively working alongside operational managers to ensure financial control and value for money.

7. Represent the companies at meetings as required.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Cleaner to join us, supporting the contract cleaning at a Vaccination centre in the IP33 area of Bury St Edmunds.

Your shift will be varied and fast-paced and you will be working in an environment where you can really make a difference. You will be provided with full training to complete your role. You will be an ambassador to the cleaning service, and this will show through your work ethic, punctuation, and reliability.

We are a small growing business with a team of positive people that collaborate and support each other.

This role is to cover our weekend evening shifts (Saturday and Sunday from 20:00 – 23:00) but additional hours are available at times.

In return, we offer a competitive hourly rate of £9.56 per hour, 26 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) pro rata, full uniform, and full training. This is a fixed term role offering 6 hours per week.

Job title: Mobile Cleaner

Salary: £9.56 an hour

At the forefront of this, is our amazing team of cleaners who keep our sites cleaned to the highest standards

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Cleaner to join us, supporting the contract cleaning and one-off cleaning for a wide range of clients. This position is predominantly based in Ipswich with some clients across Suffolk.

Your day will be varied and fast-paced and you will be working in an environment where you can really make a difference. You will be provided with a vehicle throughout your working day where you will support the business with annual leave/absence cover, one off cleans and a variety of tasks to help the cleaning service deliver. You will be an ambassador to the cleaning service, and this will show through your work ethic, punctuation and reliability.

A driving license and means to travel to our offices in Ipswich are essential, where a fleet of vehicles are available to be used for your working day.

In return, we offer a competitive hourly rate of £9.56 per hour, 26 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), LGPS pension, subsidised rail/bus travel for commuting to work.

This is a permanent role offering 40 hours per week, predominantly working a shift plan of Saturday to Wednesday but this is subject to change to meet the business needs. You will always be provided with two days off per week.

Purpose

We are currently looking for a Cleaning Operative to join our team. To carry out cleaning duties of designated areas as per the site specification provided by the Cleaning Services Manager to ensure the required standards are met.

Main Duties 

  • Carry out routine and non-routine cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning specification to the required standards.
  • Adhere to Ipserv policies and procedures.
  • Wear correct PPE and uniform.
  • Report faulty machinery or equipment.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety processes and report health and safety hazards.
  • Complete signing in and out procedures via a phone app.
  • Complete stock takes and support the ordering and replenishment of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Where appropriate, carry out keyholding duties including unlocking and locking the site.
  • When appropriate, wear an IPSERV provided lone working device.

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to work alone or in part of a team.
  • Ability to accurately carry out verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to follow health and safety procedures and instructions.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High standard of work and customer service.
  • Due to the nature of the sites a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate is required.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous cleaning experience.
  • Knowledge of health and safety.
  • A full UK driving license.
