Job Description

To secure and manage new profitable contracts for IPSERV and its subsidiaries / sister companies contributing to the delivery of company business plans and financial targets

What you’ll be doing

  • Bidding for profitable contracts for IPSERV and any other company within the Ipswich Borough Council Group Companies as directed by the Head of Business Development
  • Managing new business opportunities through all stages of the sales process, including prospecting, scoping and evaluation, costing, client management, tender submission and contract
  • Working with the operational teams to deliver a commercially profitable client focussed service offering
  • Managing any contract assigned by the Head of Business Development
  • Generating sales leads including utilising the CRM database, e-marketing, networking, cold calling and tender portals
  • Carrying out contract and pricing reviews
  • Working with service providers to transfer new business into operations

What we need from you

Essential criteria

  • Experience within cleaning, security, car park management and enforcement or soft FM services sales
  • Experience of bidding for work including within public sector procurement rules
  • Significant B2B sales experience in a business development sales role
  • Strong track record of lead generation and conversion
  • Experience of contract and pricing reviews that maintain overall profit threshold
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Customer focused team player
  • Experience of managing relationships with service providers
  • Experience of writing new copy for a client tender response
  • Self motivated and self disciplined with a desire for success
  • Hold a full valid driving license

Desirable criteria

  • Understanding of services provided by IPSERV and the Ipswich Borough Council Group Companies
  • Experience of putting together a costing for a facilities service
  • Experience of cross selling additional services to existing customers
  • Experience of using a bid portal and / or framework to generate new opportunities
